DRAWN BY HIS GREAT LOVE
"And the Spirit and the bride say, come.
And let him that hears say, come.
And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will,
let him take the water of life freely."
Revelation 22:17
One of the worst things that anyone can do is tell someone else that they are not saved. We do it out of ignorance. We do it based upon our own set of rules. We do it based upon clothing or outer appearance. Salvation is an issue of the heart, not the body. Therefore, it is not good for us to determine who's saved and who's not based upon what we think or what we were taught. We can't know the condition of people's hearts, or what people have said in their hearts.
Man is drawn to God because of His great love and man's great need. Remember, while we were still sinners, God loved us. We were drawn to Him by His great love. Only God can and will satisfy the hunger within us. Love is a subject that is expressed in many ways. I like the country song, written by Tom T. Hall, "I love little baby ducks, old pick-up trucks, slow-moving trains, and rain. I love little country streams, sleep without dreams, Sunday school in May, and hay. And I love you, too."
Love is a chain that binds. When someone demonstrates their love for us, this causes us to be drawn to them. It causes us to want to do something for them. It causes us to want to have a closer relationship with them. One of my fascinations with God is the love-factor. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It's not because of mere gifts, trees, and great food. Christmas is about giving. We celebrate the birth of the greatest gift to man . . . Jesus Christ! God loves us so much, He gave us His gift. Giving is His proof of His love for us. And, because of His great gift, it causes us to desire to give.
Giving is our proof of love. Love is an attitude. Giving is the resulting action. Love places value on another. Giving is depriving our self for the benefit of others. I view life as a celebration of love. Because God loves me so much, how can I not love Him? You see, I have been drawn by His great love.
LET US PRAY: "Father, thank You for Your great love for me. Come into my heart, right now, as I make You the Lord of my life, In Jesus' Name, Amen!"
"Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning."
