REMEMBER WHO IS KING
By Pastor Dorsey E. Marshall Jr.
"And he that overcomes, and keeps my works unto the end,
to him will I give power over the nations:"
Revelation 2:26
Overcomers occupy the mind of God. He will even give authority and rulership to those who are victorious. Every victory in your life is one step closer to winning. You are closer than you think to the place you wished for, prayed for, and craved ... overcoming gloriously. This is not a day to confer with flesh and blood, but with the power and anointing of Almighty God. This is not a time to give up ... and quit. It is a time for pressing in and pressing forward.
However, there is a temptation to drift away when things are going good, and to give up when they go bad. Hebrews 2:1 gives us a strong warning; "We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away." One of my former Pastors would tell me, "Warning comes before destruction." What he was saying is that before consequences, God always sends a warning. I believe God sends us warnings, when we start drifting away from Him.
There are several characteristics we can see that will show a person drifting away: Loss of focus, loss of priorities, loss of passion, loss of discipline, loss of commitment, and loss of emotions. When a person is drifting away, his heart will change from the things of God to the things of the world. He becomes more concerned about himself than others, including God. He no longer has a passionate love for God or His Word. His lifestyle becomes more questionable and sinful. His church attendance becomes less important. His desire for God's presence becomes cold and indifferent.
No man or woman can live by the spirit, if they far from the spirit. When a man doesn't respond to God's call to get his life in order, it is a sign of pride. The Bible says that "pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before the fall." When people don't respond to God's call, they will say they are fine without Him. Does that describe anyone you know? I want to encourage you to not miss the King. Don't miss His personal visitation. Jesus is standing at your heart's door saying, "If any man opens that door, I will come in with him, and fellowship with him."
LET US PRAY: "Father, come into my heart, and never depart from me. I call You my Lord and King, In Jesus' Name, Amen!"
"Regardless of weather, the moon shines the same; it is the drifting clouds that make it seem different on different nights."
